Di Tian

Di Tian, born in Chongqing, China, is a New York-based new-media artist. He received his B.F.A degree from School of the Art Institute of Chicago and M.F.A degree from University of Pennsylvania. He is now working as an Assistant Teaching Professor of Digital Arts in the School of Visual Arts at Penn State University.

Di's artistic practice carries a profound sense of humanistic care. Through mediums such as interactive installations, computer graphics, and coding, his works center on conditions of existence, dignity, value, identity, and meaning, situating these inquiries within the rapid and often disorienting transformations of contemporary society. In his recent projects, set against the backdrop of contemporary China, Di moves through shifting human experiences, examining the anxieties and tensions that arise as individuals navigate social structures, cultural pressures, and expectations of identity.

From a very early age, Di’s art has been featured in a range of international exhibitions, publications, and charity events. He held his first solo exhibition at the Beijing 798 Art District in 2008 and published his first solo artworks collection in 2013. His work has continued to receive global recognition, appearing in exhibitions in New York, San Gabriel, Rome, and Hong Kong.
