Through this virtual live stream, Di analyzes the materialistic donation culture existed in today's live stream, particularly on the Chinese social platform Douyin, with a focus on the concepts of gaze and body-snatching. Di questions about the autonomy and authenticity of digital personas in the virtual realm, for the character in this live stream is only a digital construct—a 'snatched' entity existing solely for viewer consumption.

 

The character's movements and expressions are designed to captivate and hold the attention of the viewers, making them conscious of their role as observers, donators, and controllers. This dynamic creates a loop of interaction where the gaze becomes a tool of engagement and, subtly, manipulation.
